Elko, Nevada – Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) rang in 2025 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 6 pounds and 15 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches, baby Lisandro was born to proud parents Daniela and Luis at 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1st.
Baby Lisandro received numerous gifts as the “New Year’s Baby”. The volunteers with the NNRH Auxiliary provided a tub filled with toys and goodies along with a gift card to purchase baby supplies. The hospital administration gifted an infant discovery gym, while the Elko County Cattlewomen donated a gift basket to be delivered at a later date.
“On New Year’s Day and year-round, our clinical team is committed to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for mothers and their babies,” said Amy Carroll, director of women’s services at the hospital. “It is our privilege to help our community’s families welcome their newest additions in a healthy, positive and memorable way.”
The Birth Center at NNRH provides high-quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents across the region. The hospital offers free online prenatal classes, private delivery and recovery rooms, lactation specialists, and a free breastfeeding support group.
