Awards and Accreditations
At Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, we constantly strive to provide the highest quality care to each and every one of our patients. The accreditations and ratings listed below reflect our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
JOINT COMMISSION ACCREDITATION
NNRH is accredited by The Joint Commission which means that we adhere to hundreds of strict standards for quality and patient safety. We passed our most recent accreditation survey with flying colors in September of 2017. The Laboratory at NNRH is also accredited by The Joint Commission and is audited for quality measures every two years.
HEALTH-INSIGHT QUALITY AWARD
In 2017, NNRH was honored as one of only two hospitals in Nevada to receive the HealthInsight Quality Award. HealthInsight is a nonprofit, community-based organization that works to improve health care for patients around the country. The Quality Award is based on a hospital’s performance in safety measures and patient satisfaction scores. NNRH scored in the 82nd percentile for the entire state.
CHEST PAIN ACCREDITATION
NNRH has been recognized as an accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. This accreditation was based on rigorous evaluation of our procedures for diagnosing and treating patients suffering from chest pain. NNRH meets or exceeds the high standards for responding to cardiac emergencies in a timely and life-saving manner.
CATH LAB ACCREDITATION
The American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association have also recognized NNRH’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (or Cath Lab). This is where our cardiologists perform percutaneous coronary interventions (or PCI), a non-surgical procedure that involves opening up blocked arteries and restoring blood flow to the heart. Having an accredited Cath Lab means that our doctors and staff provide top-of-the-line care for heart attack patients right here in Elko.
CMS STAR RATING
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) assign each hospital in the country with an overall star rating based on quality statistics and patient satisfaction scores. NNRH has been awarded 3 out of 5 stars, which is the most common rating for hospitals nationwide. Out of all the hospitals in Nevada, the average CMS star rating in 2019 is 1.96 stars.
