Diagnosis
The orthopedic physicians at NNRH are specialists in diagnosing and treating joint pain. As part of your evaluation and diagnosis, we will review your history along with performing a physical exam, including testing your range of motion and strength of muscles.
As a result of the physical exam, the doctor may ask you to have an X-ray or an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) exam. These tests will help the doctor make a diagnosis. (If you already have X-rays, please bring them with you.)
Treatment
We offer many effective treatment options and always begin treatment with the least invasive methods first. In more severe cases of joint pain, surgery may be recommended. Arthroscopic surgery is a minimally-invasive technique used to diagnose and treat joint problems. Our orthopedic surgeons use highly specialized instruments, inserted through incisions about one-half inch in size, to reconstruct joints.
Other patients may require full joint replacement surgery. In each case, our orthopedic surgeons perform surgical procedures to lessen pain, reduce recovery time, and allow you to regain the full use of the joint as soon as possible. A rehabilitation program will help you get back to functioning at your fullest potential following surgery.
