Free lab work available until 4/1/24
March 11, 2024
ELKO, NV -- On Saturday, March 9th, Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital provided free lab work to 673 individuals at the annual Health & Fitness Fair. Now, the hospital administration has extended the free lab work until Monday, April 1st.
"We realize not everyone could make it on Saturday, so we're extending this opportunity for three weeks," said Steve Simpson, hospital CEO. "It's important that people receive these screenings and follow up with their doctor. We want to make it as easy as possible for folks to do that."
Community members are encouraged to report to the NNRH Laboratory between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., seven days per week, through April 1st.
Participants do not need to schedule an appointment beforehand and they do not need to check in at the hospital's front Registration desk. Instead they can head directly to the Laboratory desk, located in the back of the main lobby, and request the health fair lab draw. Participants should be aware that lab work for emergency department patients and inpatients will take priority, so they may be asked to wait for their lab draw. Lab results will be mailed to participants within 7 days.
"We appreciate everyone's patience as our lab staff works double duty to care for our patients and provide these screenings to our community," Simpson stated. "As part of our mission of making communities healthier, it is our pleasure to provide these screenings completely free of charge."
