NNRH donates $10,500.00 to Elko Cancer Network

ELKO, Nevada – Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital recently donated $10,500.00 to the Elko Cancer Network. The contribution matched the amount that was raised by the hospital’s Relay For Life team in June.

“Our employees went all out this year to raise money for Relay For Life,” said Steve Simpson, CEO of NNRH. “We pledged early on to match their fundraising dollar for dollar with this contribution to the Elko Cancer Network. That way, half of the money went to the American Cancer Society to fund cancer research. The other half will stay right here in our community to support local cancer patients.”

Simpson stated that the combined total of $21,000.00 was a new fundraising record for the hospital which has participated in Relay For Life for over a decade.

Debbie Anderson, board secretary for the Elko Cancer Network, was on-hand to receive the check.

“This is such a kind and generous donation,” Anderson said. “It will make a difference in the lives of the many people who turn to Elko Cancer Network for healing and support.”

According to the group’s website, the Elko Cancer Network is a community-based, non-profit organization that seeks to improve the health and well-being of cancer patients and survivors in northeastern Nevada. Those interested in learning more may visit www.elkocancernetwork.org.
