February 17, 2016-
Welcome Rodney Badger, M.D., FACC, the newest member of the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital Medical Staff.
Dr. Badger will be practicing at the new Northeastern Nevada Cardiology where his focus, along with Dr. Imran Zubair, will be to establish an interventional cardiology program to provide optimal care for patients suffering a heart attack. This program will improve patient outcomes, increase their chance of survival and eliminate the need for emergent transport to Reno or Salt Lake City. In addition, Dr. Badger will focus on providing a comprehensive cardiology program to include the treatment and prevention of coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure.
Dr. Badger is a graduate of Stanford University and completed Medical School at the University of California, San Diego – School of Medicine. Following medical school he went on to the University of Washington to complete an internship and residency in Internal Medicine, and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Badger is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He was most recently an Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab at the University of Utah Hospital and School of Medicine. During that time he served on the Admissions Committee for the School of Medicine and completed extensive research in stem cell therapy for the treatment of heart failure.
“We are so excited to welcome Dr. Badger to our team at Northeastern Nevada Cardiology and our highly respected Medical Staff at NNRH. We were thrilled to be able to partner with such an experienced physician to bring Interventional Cardiology care to the northeastern Nevada region!” says Rick Palagi, CEO.
