Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) recently presented a check for $10,000 to Horizon Hospice INC of Elko in support of their annual Souper Bowl Event.

“We are so very grateful for the support and partnership that we have with NNRH,” said Billie Jean Crawford, Executive Director of Horizon Hospice.  “Donations such as this help us to continue providing care and expand our services to meet the ever increasing needs of our region.  We are just so grateful.”

Horizon Hospice provides the northeastern Nevada region with support for dying individuals and their families with the process associated with death, as well as support groups for after care.  The 2016 Souper Bowl scheduled for April 15th is the only fundraising event held by Hospice annually to support the program’s mission and expenses.

“Our region is very lucky to have Horizon Hospice to provide people the dignity to die at home or wherever they choose,” says Rick Palagi, NNRH CEO.  “The annual Souper Bowl event is such a great opportunity to raise awareness for Hospice and funds in support of Hospice and their very valuable mission.  We are so thrilled to be able to give such a large donation to such a worthy organization.”

Horizon Hospice, Inc helped more than 80 dying individuals and 425 family members in 2015 and is on track to exceed that in 2016.  The organization relies on charitable community support to continue pursuing their mission and providing care to those in the region.
