Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) has generously donated $10,000 to the Elko County School District (ECSD) for the 2015 year as an investment in the future of our children and in support of health and wellness in education.
"On behalf of Elko County School District, I want to express my appreciation for the generosity of NNRH in support of Health and Wellness Education of students and staff. Your personal commitment will be incredibly helpful and will allow us to reach our goals. Your assistance means so much to us but even more to our students. Thank you from all of us." Said Jeff Zander, Superintendent
The NNRH Grant is specifically for the ECSD Nursing Program, and that program is now responsible for sub-granting those funds to other health-related school projects within the Elko County School District. Up to 30% of the Grant may be used for District-wide professional Nursing Development.
"Our community investment committee thought it was important to make a significant donation to the school district because of their continuous efforts to improve the health of the regions children" said Rick Palagi, CEO. "When they brought up the idea, I immediately thought that it was the right thing to do especially considering the nursing program's history of supporting immunization efforts locally, as well as being the daily health resource for our regions children while in school."
NNRH plans to make the Grant to the school district an annual occurrence.
