29th Annual NNRH Health Fair!

August 21, 2014 –ELKO, NV- 
On Saturday, September 20th, from 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital will be offering a Laboratory Blood Draw* for chemistry and lipid profiling, thyroid testing, PSA testing for men over 40 years of age, measurements of height/weight; body fat and blood pressure. The laboratory test includes general screening for diabetes, liver and kidney function, body minerals, protein and salts, cholesterol and HDL fractions. 

Specific tests include: 

  • Albumin 
  • Glucose 
  • Total Protein 
  • Total Bilirubin 
  • Alkaline Phosphatase 
  • Total Cholesterol 
  • Calcium 
  • Sodium 
  • Triglycerides 
  • CO2 
  • Potassium 
  • HDL 
  • Chloride 
  • AST 
  • Cardiac Risk Ratio 
  • BUN 
  • Creatinine 
  • TSH 
Cost per person is $25 plus $25 for men who request a PSA test. (i.e. Total for men who request both is $50) 

*In order to get the most accurate results, participants should not consume any food or drink, except water and prescribed medicines, for at least 8 hours prior to the lab draw. 

“This is the twenty-ninth year that our hospital, formerly known as Elko General Hospital, has conducted the event because the community response is always so positive. Last year over 800 attendees received laboratory screenings and over 1,000 visited a variety of interactive health-related booths to receive FREE health, wellness and support group information,” said Hope Cripps, Director of Business Development. The health fair is available to everyone.
